Objectif 3: Good Health and Well-Being
UCA actively guarantees the physical and mental health of its students and surrounding communities through free medical services, awareness campaigns, multidisciplinary health caravans, sports facilities, and psychological support, so that no one’s dreams are stopped by illness or stress.
Here is UCA in action :
1-Assurance Maladie Obligatoire pour tous les étudiants :
UCA guarantees all of its students fair access to healthcare services
All enrolled students take advantage of the Mandatory Student Health Insurance (AMO‘udiants), a nationwide programme created to offer complete and easily accessible basic medical coverage throughout their academic career.
Eligible beneficiaries:
- Enrolment in a programme for professional training or higher education;
- Under 30 (with certain exceptions for conventional educational pathways);
- No additional basic medical coverage, either as a beneficiary or on an individual basis.
Registration procedure:
The following actions must be taken in order to sign up for AMO Student Health Insurance:
- Complete the online registration form:The form is accessible on the university website at amo.uca.ma for students enrolled in public higher education institutions.
- Make the payment:
- The State fully covers the contribution, so students enrolled in tuition-free public higher education or vocational training programmes are not required to pay it.
- A 400 MAD annual flat contribution is required of students enrolled in private schools or paid programmes.
- Send in the registration request: Applications for registration must be sent to the relevant educational institutions at the time of enrolment or re-enrollment.
Services covered:
Numerous medical services are covered by the AMO Student Health Insurance, such as:
- Medical consultations: Up to 80% of the National Reference Tariff (TNR) is reimbursed for home visits as well as visits to general practitioners and specialists.
- Dental care: Up to 80% of the TNR is reimbursed for conservative and surgical dental procedures as well as dental prosthetics.
- Hospitalisation and surgery: Depending on the TNR, hospitalisation expenses for surgery, medical care, critical care, or resuscitation are covered up to 90% in the private sector and 100% in the public sector.
- Additional healthcare services: AMO regulations also cover physiotherapy, radiological exams, biological testing, dialysis sessions, and other particular medical treatments.
Situations of emergency:
Students may be given priority file processing in the event of a medical emergency. In order for their case to be handled as promptly and appropriately as possible, they must submit an urgent request along with a medical report to their educational institution.

4-Mental Health Support for students :
University is more than just lectures and tests; it’s also about stress, uncertainty, and times when you need someone to listen to you honestly and without passing judgement.
Because of this, each and every organisation that is part of UCA has a Cellule Focale d’Écoute, a listening cell that is ready to assist you.
- For you, who is there? At least one instructor, one administrative assistant, and a number of classmates—all of whom are educated, sympathetic, and subject to complete confidentiality (per our Écoute Charter).
- What are they doing? Referrals to social workers like Yasmine Chakir or psychologists like Oussama Zoheir; active listening for stress, anxiety, or personal struggles; and even individualised peer support sessions are all available.
- Where? FSJESM, FLSHM, FSSM, ENCG, and all 16 others are right in your faculty. Call the CEIRS hotline (0670 09 85 93), email, or stop by during business hours.
Actual effect: During COVID, these cells kept students afloat with virtual check-ins; today, they help internationals combat isolation or students with disabilities build resilience.
Hear it from Amal (a student with mobility challenges at FSJESM): “CEIRS gave me an inclusive space to grow academically and socially – I even started volunteering.” As one visually impaired alumnus, Meriem, puts it: “The peer guides during exams changed everything – I felt seen, not sidelined.”
UCA prioritises mental health!
